Introduction

Welcome to my business website. On this page I will shortly introduce myself.

I was born in Breda on May 26, 1972. I spent my youth in Brabant, and moved to Rotterdam in 1992 during my study business administration at the Rotterdam School of Management. I received my Master in Business Administration in 1996, specialised in information management and logistics management.

Since may 1996 I have been employed by ERBS, a department at the university set up to manage contract research projects. Within this department as a projectmanager I have been responsible to develop, manage and execute innovative and knowledge-intensive contract research projects for government and the business community - in close cooperation with many Professors and research staff at the Rotterdam School of Management and the School of Economics.

Since 1996 I have participated in over 50 national and international applied research projects and initiatives in close collaboration with the business community. I have worked for a wide range of customers, varying from the European Commission, national governments (Ministry of Economic Affairs), large companies (Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, Sogeti, KPN Mobile, NS, KLM, TNT, Eneco) to local governments (like Rotterdam Port Authority) and foundations (like Transumo, Connekt, Media Plaza, ECP-EP.NL).

Since 2002 I have been active in the creation of a community on ICT and e-business research with the School, called e-Circles.

As of 1-1-2004 I have returned to the RSM Erasmus University, Department of Decision & Information Sciences. I work now as a projectmanager/scientific researcher and treasurer for the department. Furthermore I am part of the daily board. I am a reviewer for ECIS, EJIS, and HICSS.

In 2010 I will publish my PhD which is titled Sense, respond and Learn? The impact of IT agility on Business Agility Performance. I analyse the need for organizations to be agile, the agility capabilities (sensing, responding and learning) and the impact of agile Information Systems and Technology.

Please visit my projects page for more information on (recent) applied research projects and my publications page for an overview of my publications. My research and interests are related to the interaction of strategy, ICT and supply chain logistics.

Feel free to contact me if you want more information or have ideas for further collaboration.
